Our Story

A Journey with Purpose

Our lives took an unexpected turn when we discovered that our daughter Amaya was different. We went through our cycle of emotions of frustration, anger, and confusion. Like everyone else we questioned and asked ” Why us “?

It took us twelve years and million doctor and therapist visits to finally get a diagnosis that she had a very rare genetic disorder called Cockayne Syndrome. It was a degenerative  condition that results in stunted growth and premature aging. During our trips to therapists and doctors we saw huge gaps in delivery, accountability and goals being met. Lot of talk but very little action. Zero empathy.
Communicare was born out of our struggles, helplessness and the pain points we experienced as parents in the rehabilitation of our child.
Amaya is our little angel who came in order to make a change in our lives and through us impact the lives of others.
We founded Communicare in 2012, to touch the lives of families similar to ours and empowering them is our purpose.
As someone said, “ God gives special people a special child, only because He knows no one else could take care of them as well as they would”.
 

Amaya left for her heavenly abode on 27th of February, 2024.

Our approach at Communicare Foundation is different, our intent strong and here we are, to make a meaningful change in the life of all children with special needs and physical disabilities, be evangelists for inclusion and give these children a life of dignity and independence that they deserve, just like anyone else.

COMMUNICARE is an institution for special needs education and rehabilitation for children with autism and other neurological disorders. We also cater to children with physical disability between the ages of 3years – 17 years.
We provide a holistic government recognised curriculum both for preschool as well as middle and senior school.
Communicare school for special needs education provides tailored instruction, speech, neuromovement rehabilitation and remedial support to help students achieve their academic , social and emotional potential.
Communicare Special Education provides :
 
1. Individualized Education: 
 We create customized learning plans that cater to each child’s unique abilities and challenges.
 
2. Support:
Our EduVention™️program also  offer access to trained staff, therapists, and resources that address specific needs, such as speech therapy, physio therapy, occupational therapy,  life skills, neuro movement therapy, somatic therapy, remedial and behavioural therapy support.
 
3. Safe Environment: 
Communicare prides at providing a nurturing and understanding environment in a school setup where students can learn, thrive and be themselves without the pressures often found in mainstream settings.
 
4. Parent support and family intervention. 
Absolutely. Communicare Special Education focuses on social integration and the development of interpersonal skills, helping students build relationships and friendships.

We have three programs as you may have seen on the website
We take any student until the age of 17 years. 
Any student above that age would be on a one on one basis . 

We provide extra speech, occupational, physical, behavioural and remedial therapy. In addition to this, we also provide neuro- movement therapy, music therapy, animal assisted therapy, somatic therapy and for our mums we offer special dance and movement sessions !
