Diploma In Education (Special Needs)

This 6-month Diploma in Education (Special Needs) (DSPED) part-time programme 

It is designed specifically to train potential candidates to teach children with a wide range of disabilities, including those with various degrees of intellectual, behavioural, and sensory problems, or a combination of these. The candidates will acquire curriculum development and teaching pedagogy to enable children to acquire literacy and numeracy competencies.

Diploma in Disability
Studies

This 6-month Diploma in Disability Studies (DDIS) part-time programme is designed specifically to train potential candidates

The candidates will acquire curriculum development and teaching pedagogy to enable children to acquire literacy and numeracy competencies.

Certificate in Child Psychology and Counseling

 This 6-month comprehensive Certificate in Child Psychology and Counseling (CPCS) 

A part-time course introduces students to the fundamentals of a child’s psychological development. In addition, relevant counseling skills and theories, as well as various intervention strategies will be communicated to students by practitioners.

Diploma in Counseling Psychology

This is a 5-month Diploma in Counseling Psychology (DCPSY) part-time programme 

Covering a range of theoretical, analytical, conceptual and functional skills in counseling. It trains students to apply appropriate counseling skills in different situations while understanding their underlying theories. This programme prepares and equips students with the ability to work effectively as a counselor.

Advanced Diploma in Counseling Psychology

This is a 10-month Advanced Diploma in Counselling Psychology (ADICP) part-time programme 

Covering a range of theoretical, analytical, conceptual and functional skills in counselling. It trains students to apply appropriate counselling skills in different situations while understanding their underlying theories. This programme prepares and equips students with the ability to work effectively as a counsellor.

Professional Certificate in Speech Therapy Assistance

As a Speech Therapist Assistant you will be able to assist people with speech, language or communication problems.

Communication disorders may include difficulties in speech, language, voice and reading. Swallowing disorders may result from medical conditions such as stroke, cancer or respiratory diseases.

(6-month & 12-month) Part-Time Diploma in Learning Disorders Management and Child Psychology (DLDM) 

This part-time programme is designed specifically to train potential teachers, parents and caregivers to identify, detect and support children with special needs, such as Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Dyspraxia, and Dyslexia.

This module will equip you with the resources and skills to detect and support children with learning disabilities so as to help them integrate into a mainstream learning environment.

Speech is a mechanism by which most people communicate, using voice to make sounds.

Language, on the other hand, encompasses complex rules of sounds, words, sentences, meaning and use. Children with speech and language impairments may present a range of difficulties affecting all areas of learning, and may be viewed as having significant special educational needs.

This module will also equip you with the necessary skills to help children with developmental speech language disorders.

This module will help you understand how we structure our information about children’s behavior and their development.

The study of child psychology is an important foundation for many fields of application, including education, social work, mental health and parenthood.

Counselling is a process which helps the individual focus on his particular concerns, while simultaneously addressing and exploring specific problems, making choices, managing crises, working through feelings of inner conflict and improving relationships with others.

It helps the individual gain a better understanding of himself and his situations, as well as developing strategies to manage changes.

This module will equip you with the helping skills of knowing how and when to ask the right questions, of listening and of prompting.

The ADIC programme begins by introducing students to the nature of psychology and relates it to the theories and concepts of counselling.

Students move on to explore themselves in order to promote personal growth and self-awareness thus acquiring the key attributes of a competent counsellor. Students will then gain knowledge to the different approaches of counselling and psychotherapy and have the skills to implement and apply them to the appropriate situations.

This is a 10-month part-time programme prepares and equips students with the ability to work effectively as a counsellor.

The programme aims to improve participants’ pronunciation and command of the English language and moves on to equip participants with the necessary skills and methodology to help children develop their language and literacy skills.

The study of speech articulators will equip participants with the capability to rectify speech language difficulties, and the ability to impart the knowledge of phonology and phonetics to the children.

Potential students are those considering a career in teaching, supporting the development of speech and language for children and those who want to improve their spoken language and the command of the English Language Careers as a Special Educator Career options.
